A few weeks ago I came across a second hand Impldoll old Star female body on Facebook and I bought it with the intent of using it for Farrah, an Or-Doll / Nyx lop-ear Eris head. It was described as yellowed, having several owners already, and only having the heel feet. I’ve wanted to see this body in person, so I snapped it up.
I didn’t do very many box opening pictures, but here’s the body after I cleaned it up and put it together. No offense to the previous owner, but it was filthy. 
The old Star body is slimmer than the new version and I briefly considered getting one for Emelia at one point, but now that I see it in person, that’s not going to happen. The arms are kind of gangly and unnatural looking and the shoulders aren’t wide enough, although the neck is about right. It also doesn’t pose that well and leans back most of the time. I’m going to keep it for a while, find something nice for her to wear, and see if it grows on me. It was only $145 including shipping, so I honestly don’t feel too bad about it, and at least Farrah gets to be displayed again.

You can see the extreme color difference between the head and body. I’m not actually sure what skin tone it is–either “real skin” or a custom color (Impldoll will do that at no extra charge, which is pretty cool). I redid her face-up and added a bit of yellow to it but it didn’t help quite enough. I was afraid to add too much yellow, as it is, she appears to have a sallow look to her. Despite that, I think it’s passable, and you might not notice the difference at first glance unless you knew about it or looked for it.
I put micro powder glitter on her face, which is the first time I tried that. I thought it would be appropriate for an elf. It has the effect of highlighting certain areas and creating a textured appearance. I might take advantage of that in future face-ups. Key features are: I made her upper lip a little bit darker than her lower lip, made her eyelids stand out by shading the crease rather darkly, and I went pretty heavy on the eyelashes. I think she has a very stoic expression and I like it. I’m happy with it, but it’s not the best I’ve done. This could very well be the last face-up I do until next Spring. It’s finally starting to get cold outside, or at least appropriate temperatures for November around here.
